Niveena Homeo Clinic carries forward a family legacy in homeopathy spanning more than 75 years and three generations.

Dr. V. Jaya Rao

Pioneer of Homeopathy in Tamil Nadu

Dr. V. Jaya Rao was one of the early pioneers of homeopathy in Tamil Nadu. Along with Dr. Kumbakonam Bahola and Thiruvarur Srinivasan, he was respected as part of the “Trident of Homeopathy.”

After serving in the Army, he studied homeopathy in Kolkata and established his practice in Nellikuppam. He trained aspiring practitioners, founded a homeopathic institute and played an important role in securing government registration for experienced homeopathic practitioners in Tamil Nadu during the early 1970s.

As an elected member of the Tamil Nadu State Homeopathic Council, he contributed to the development of homeopathic education in the state. His legacy continues through his son, Dr. J. Guru Vara Prasath, and grandsons, Dr. G. Nirmal and Dr. G. Arvind Babu.

A leading voice in Tamil Nadu homeopathy

Dr. J. Guru Vara Prasath was a prominent homeopathic physician who made significant contributions to clinical practice, education and professional administration in Tamil Nadu. After completing his SHMS qualification in Hyderabad, he established a successful clinical practice in Chennai and became widely known for his expertise.

He wrote extensively about homeopathy in Tamil publications, including a 100-week series in the magazine “தாய்.” Elected twice to the Central Council of Homeopathy, he served on key committees and inspected homeopathy colleges across India, helping to strengthen professional and educational standards.

He also founded Dr. V. J. Rao Pharma in honour of his father. His legacy is continued by his sons, Dr. G. Nirmal and Dr. G. Arvind Babu.

Continuing the legacy of healing

Dr. G. Nirmal and Dr. G. Arvind Babu represent the third generation of the family’s contribution to homeopathy. Both doctors completed postgraduate qualifications in homeopathy, and Dr. G. Nirmal also earned a Ph.D. in Homeopathy.

Beyond clinical practice and research, Dr. Nirmal has contributed to homeopathic education and professional administration. Driven by a commitment to patient care, he founded Niveena Homeo Clinic in Ayanavaram, Chennai.
